    Sauerbreij and Wammes athletes of Amsterdam

    Nicolien Sauerbreij became sportswoman of Amsterdam. Jeffrey Wammes is chosen for sportsman.

    The jury was formed by Amsterdam sports press.

    Snowboarder Sauerbreij received the award, because of her gold medal on the parallel giant slalom during the Olympic Winter games in Vancouver. Wammes performed well at several tournaments this year.

  • Second game Worldcup Bobsleigh Calgary

    Belgian bobsleigh girls Elfje Willemsen and Eva Willemarck ended on the 14th place, in the second game of the World Cup in Calgary. Fifteen teams participated in this tournament. The German 2 couple Martini/ Wiacker earned the victory.

  • Nicolien Sauerbreij wint Europa Cup wedstrijd

    Snowboard player Nicolien Sauerbreij is in good shape. On Saturday the Olympic champion won, during the heavily occupied Europa Cup parallel giant slalom in the Austrian Hochfugen.

    It was her first victory in this early season. In the final she beated the Austrian Patrizia Kummer. The German Anke Karstens reached the third place, who beated the other Austrian Viktoria Stefaner in the consolation final.

    Since 1 January 2011 the national elite bicycle team is called the Rucanor Cycling Team. There play young talents in this team. It is a part of the society Cycling Promotion in Hoofddorp (NL).

  • Wammes World Cup 2010 winner vault!

    Last Saturday top gymnast Jeffrey Wammes competed in the World Cup at Glasgow and won 3 medals.

    He won silver (together with an other gymnast) at high bar. He won the bronse medal for floor and vault. Last week during the World Cup at Stuttgart, Jeffrey Wammes was also very successfull. He won 2 silver medals then, for vault and high bar. Thanks to his third place for vault in Glasgow, Wammes was certain that he was going to win the end score of the World Cup 2010 vault!

    His next goal is 2011 and ofcourse the Olympics 2012!

    Again Rucanor is sponsor of the Belgium bobsleigh ladies team! Last year the dream for the bobsleigh team came true, a 14th place at the Winter Olympics in Vancouver. And this year they will go for a great result again and want to make a bobsleigh tradition for Belgium. Ofcourse Rucanor will support them in their mission and who knows; an other Olympisc again?!

  • 17th place for Daniëlle en Sophie

    The Swatch FIVB Wolrd Tour Beachvolleyball is over for Daniëlle and Sophie. They started very well in this tournament. They even won their first game of the sisters Nystron, by whom they were deveaded last week at the World Tour in Sanya (China). In their second game, against the girls from Austria Schwaiger/Schwaiger, they could finish it and lost after an important third set. Because of this they came in the repeat games and had to compete against the American duo Ivy/Rutledge. Our Dutch ladies didn't feel it and lost.
