Jan van Beveren

He made his début in the Dutch soccer team at the age of 19. The coach had seen his talent and ignored the legendary Eddy Pieters Graafland, which many people surprised. Nevertheless, he played only 32 caps (Edwin van der Sar had reached at least 100!). Middle seventies a fight between PSV players Willy van der Kuylen en Jan van Beveren on this hand and on the other hand Johan Cruijff and Johan Neeskens made an end of the Dutch team experience for Jan van Beveren. He left in 1980, because of the fight, to the USA. He played for Fort Lauderdale Strikers and the Dallas Sidekicks. On this moment he is head coach of Spindletop Select Soccer in Beaumont (USA).
