Barry Atsma

New FOOTWEAR ambassador Barry Atsma

Tough, tight, with an own style. Versatile. That’s Barry Atsma, famous Dutch actor, and the new Rucanor Footwear ambassador.

Barry Atsma is the personification of the target group of Rucanor. This was translated in a creative sense during the shoot, where the acting talents of Barry flourished. Barry even performed in a love & hate relationship with the Rucanor shoes. Barry: ''That was funny. These shoes are sturdy, with good style and taste. They are just very comfortable shoes, real companions. Improvising, the idea arose that it really would be annoying if you would lose those shoes. Literally translated, if they would walk away from you. ''Don't you walk away!'' and ''I would like you to stay...'' were good themes during the session.''

Tough, with its own style and taste. These shoes are really cool anyway. This was a new experience for me, a photo shoot for a 'brand'. It is completely different than acting, actually much more direct with only that one camera. There is the focus. The nice thing is that we could let our creativity flow. Nothing was scripted in advance. This creativity also fits with a versatile collection of Rucanor. Unbelievable, what a variety. Bringing a lot of opportunities. Certainly at this awesome location. Where everyone comes up with ideas and a lot of material was shot. In a unforced, laid-back atmosphere. This is absolutely necessary for me, because otherwise I'm gone. I need my freedom and this is the experience that Rucanor gives to you. Very relaxed.''

Tough. With an own style.

Martijn Nelissen, CEO of Rucanor, is very enthusiastic about the session with Barry Atsma: ''barry is doing this in a great way, he is the perfect match with our brand in his specific, own style. Our Footwear collection 2012 has characteristics such as tough, no nonsense and an own style. Versatile and with high quality. Barry translates this feeling perfectly. An ultimate fit with our brand. Moreover, it is always a great joy to work with a professional like him. I think it is special that it always seems that everything happens by itself, without making a detailed script. That's the real creative cooperation, the best way to work'!''
